My Boyfriend's Back Movie Review

Brian here and I watch tons of movies from every genre known to man, yes that means even porn movies but the likelihood of me reviewing one of those is slim to none so this is a review of a 1993 zombie love story comedy called My Boyfriend's Back. IMDb gives this movie a total rating of 5.4/10 and I have to disagree with that so much as I would easily give it a 9/10. Traci Lind plays Missy, that beautiful high school girl we all wish would give us a shot and go out with us and Andrew Lowery plays Johnny, that boy who isn't popular but has been crushing on Missy his entire life. Matthew Fox is in it too, he plays Buck, Missy's current boyfriend but his role wasn't too big at all. Two other noteworthy actors who got a part in the movie are Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Matthew McConaughey. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Chuck who is Buck's best friend and he seems to act the normal high school bully that likes to pick on Johnny and give him a rough time, they cast him just as Philip Hoffman which makes me wonder when in his career he decided to add the Seymour in the middle. McConaughey has a very short one or two lines part and is just listed as Guy #2 but being a huge fan of his I feel like I have to mention him anyways, alright alright alright lol!!! I remember this movie back from my childhood and just had to get it, the zombie love story hints to me that maybe this is where the creators of Warm Bodies got their idea for that movie. It definitely has that perfect high school love story thing going for it and the comedy is sometimes corny but also has dark humor which is probably why I laughed so much. The only stupid thing I can say about it is the title because it's called My Boyfriend's Back but Missy and Johnny were never exclusive and she finds out how he feels about her way late in the movie still though it is worth the money to buy this one instead of rent it because the re-watch value of this movie is high at least for me. Hope I could help someone with this movie review, be back for another one soon.
